On Saturday we visited Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies. It's a great place, though the drive out of Pigeon Forge moved at a snail's pace. Violet said two new words today. Said duck - she had been saying "duh" before, but she put the k on the end, starting today. She was also pointing to Grace and she said "neck." She was able to tell me "neck" when I pointed to my own neck and to hers. So yay!!!

For lack of anything better to do, we walked down to the playground at the apartment complex today. Mainly because they have a bucket swing for Miss V. And she does love to swing.Then went back and walked up and down the stairs three times before going in for lunch and a nap.

Violet is 18 months old, as of this past Saturday. She had her check up today. She only had to get one shot, so that was nice. She weighs 20.6 pounds and is still in the 5th percentile. The doctor said that was just fine, she's just a skinny girl! I need to get her a potty soon and start that conversation, the doctor says.I have been working with Violet on three letters - A B & C - for a while

Several weeks ago, I took Violet to the playground. She had a lot of fun sitting in the hole she dug in the sand and then covering her legs and belly in sand. Violet loves playing in the kitchen. I usually keep it blocked off because then I have to put the cat food out of her reach or she'll eat it/play with it and that gets old really fast. Also because we couldn't get any of the childproofing things to work on the cabinets and I don't want her going under the sink. We went down to Georgia to visit family for Easter. Violet had a wonderful time. She got to swing, read a few books, and see her cousins and aunts and grandparents. She only slept for an hour on the 4-hour ride home - the rest of the time she spent yelling her head off. She does not love her carseat.But now she's asleep...a peaceful, happy girl once again.

Tonight, Violet said "box" for the first time with the ending on. Her ending sounds more like a "th" than an "x" and, I have to say, it's pretty cute. I'll try to get video of it tomorrow. Today Violet is 17 months old. The past couple of days have been challenging. Night before last she kept waking up, crying in her sleep. She's been sick every few weeks since January too.
